Hardcover 16x23 cm, 274 pages. Japanese Submarine operations are covered no where near as in depth as German or American operations in the war. I believe I can find more books on British submarine operations also. Normally your glimpse into Japanese submarine operations involves their failures at Pearl Harbor, Midway, and their handful of success during Guadalcanal. That is normally how you read about them, during accounts of those operations. This book will give you a very good background about the creation and prewar strategy of their submarine force. Also with a very short description about the differing submarine types. The part that I was really waiting for was about the actual war time operations. What you receive is a little short and a little more overview than my ideal, but it was still good. You get to realize just how mismanaged the submarines were. Constantly being moved during operations here and there in an effort to kill the American navy that their surface and aerial attacks fail to do time after time. It’s also amazing at how many submarines keep on trying to attack the American invasion fleets and all that normally results is they get attacked and sunk over and over again. 9781853107641
