USS Missouri BB-63

Following up on the 1/200 Arizona and Bismarck, Trumpeter releases this famous US Battleship in massive 1/200 scale. Missouri would be the last battleship completed by the United States and was the site of the formal surrender of the Empire of Japan, which ended WWII. Her keel was laid on January 6, 1941, launched on January 29, 1944 and commissioned in June 11, 1944. In the Pacific Theater of WWII, she fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands, and later went on to fight in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. She was decommissioned in 1955 into the US Navy reserve fleets, but reactivated and modernized in 1984 as part of the 600-ship Navy plan, and provided fire support during Operation Desert Storm in January/February 1991. This kit will represent USS Missouri as she appeared at the end of WWII. Kit consists of over 1573 parts including 11 photo-etched frets for handrails, ladders, radar parts, etc. Includes 2-piece hull, 2-piece deck, multiple guns, two SC-1 reconnaissance seaplanes, display stand and name plate. Completed kit measures a whopping 53" long!
